It’s another Monday and that means another new work and school week. In the meantime, many of us are having to adjust and cope to all the intense patterns that swirl around us; like the extreme weather that brought the frozen conditions in the eastern part of the country and the heavy rains to the western part of the country. The sudden changes in temperature can also have an impact on our health. Especially when we get caught with our defenses down because of poor diet choices, over eating, excessive partying, heavy drinking, or a lack of physical exercise. That is when we become more vulnerable to getting sick.
So when the pressure is on, the work load is piling, and deadlines are creeping up, think of the quote by Marcus Aurelius below as a perfect pattern interrupt to help remember what the real priorities in life are. Once we comprehend that fear and anxiety are temporary emotional states, with right strategic choices, we can change those fears into strength and confidence. In other words, we can either accept the challenge and look at it as an opportunity for growth by adjusting our attitude to deal with it, or we can freak out and panic, giving in to self-doubt and feel miserable in the process. I like Marcus Aurelius’ approach much better. How about you?
“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.”
Have a great week everyone!
